Day Lilly hybride - Hemerocallis in reflected ultraviolet photography and simulated bee and butterfly vision II

Today shots of another Day Lilly - Hemerocallis hybride in reflected ultraviolet photography and simulated bee and butterfly vision. All shots were done at f8 in reflected ultraviolet photography using my "work horse" UV filter, the Baader-U filter, as well as my XBV filters for simulated bee and butterfly vision. Lens was a UV-Nikkor 105mm quartz fluorite lens. Light source was sunlight.

Quadriptych of human vision, UV, simulated butterfly and bee vision (left to right, top to bottom):

Day Lilly flowers have a distinct UV reflection, its petals have a quite UV dark center and the outside part is quite UV bright around 370nm and all this gets nicely visible, also in simulated bee and butterfly vision.

I have written about that flower before HERE

Stay tuned, more will follow on that fascinating subject...

Day Lilly - Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus in reflected ultraviolet photography and simulated bee vision III

Today shots of an attractive summer flower, a creamy yellow Day Lilly - Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus in reflected ultraviolet photography using my "work horse" UV filter, the Baader-U filter as well as in simulated bee vision using my proprietary XBV filter. Lens was my ZEISS UV-Planr f2/62mm quartz flourite lens. Light source was sunlight. All shots were done at about f5.6.

Most Hemerocallis have a very prominent "dark throat" UV pattern, and that gets nicely visible here, also in simulated bee vision.

I have previously written about that flower HERE

Today shots of an attractive summer flower, a creamy yellow Day Lilly - Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus in reflected ultraviolet photography using my "work horse" UV filter, the Baader-U filter as well as in simulated bee vision using my proprietary XBV filter. Lens was my CERCO 94mm quartz flourite lens. Light source was sunlight. All shots were done at about f5.6.

Hemerocallis (Day Lilly): human vision vs simulated bee vison; reflected UV ultraviolet photography

Today on my walk in the beautiful Hermanshof Park, Weinheim I discovered flowering Hemerocallis (Day Lillies), various varieties. So here comes one, a creamy whiteish yellow colored variant in its multispectral representation. I took some shots at Hermannshof, Weinheim, Germany in normal human vision VIS, in UV using the Baader-U filter, as well as in simulated bee vision using my new XBV2 and XBV6 filters respectively.

UV using Baader-U filter:

Most Hemerocallis have a very prominent "dark throat" UV pattern, and also here that gets clearly visible.

As you may have noticed, I'm still working on my bee vision (BV) filters; BV6 is one with very intensive colors and much shorter exposure time, due to new filter glass combinations.

More about these special new filters here later in a seperate entry.

Stay tuned, more will follow on that fascinating subject...
